Dave  Southgate

Appointed as Assistant Manager in April 2006, Southgate returned to the area after a three year stint at Reading Uni. Dave’s no-nonsense tackling gave him the nickname “Dangerous” and he had a more active role for the 2006/07 and 2007/08 seasons after only appearing rarely during Nomads' first campaign, only around at Uni breaks. On the subject of “breaks”, Southgate managed to shatter three metatarsals in the defeat against Trowbridge, ruling him out for the rest of the season and putting him on crutches, though he incredibly played on in that game without realising he'd injured himself so severely. Dave became a father on 25th September 2008 when his girlfriend Kirsty gave birth to his daughter who they named Holly. The three of them are now living in Yate, Dave and Kirsty married in April 2009.
